I believe that change, healing, and growth is possible for all of us, and that it can occur powerfully in empathic, supportive and attuned relationships.
My Approach to Psychotherapy
My Approach to Psychotherapy
My training in psychoanalysis informs my belief that greater self-awareness and self-compassion can enhance intimacy and connections with others, increase confidence and compassion, facilitate living more in sync with one’s goals and values, and facilitate long-term change.
I believe that life is very challenging at times, but also that our difficulties can also be touchpoints for growth. Individuals are drawn to therapy for many reasons. Some seek help for anxiety, depression, loneliness, or specific losses. Some seek help because there are specific patterns of relating to others or themselves, or specific behaviors that they want to change. Some seek help for relationships that are not working for them. Others seek out psychotherapy for growth and greater self-awareness or a desire to be more present and alive. It is my experience that psychotherapy can be transformative and life-enhancing in helping individuals make important and meaningful shifts in their lives.
